Construction Graduate to Graphic Designer Part 1

Quick Background - About Me

Name: Adeel Ahmad

Age: 26

Location: London, UK

Education: BSc (HONs) Building Surverying

I graduated in Building Surveying just over 2 years ago. I tried my best to find a career in construction but given the economic climate the UK was facing, find a career job in my field of study was near close to impossible. I used to design a lot when I was younger, creating 3D Models, text and special effects. So if I ever wanted to get a change in career it would ideally be in design.

Green Bird Media Production Project

I wanted to make material that was pleasing to the eye, easy to learn but most importantly, educational - Islamically. Not many people have  the time or the interest in sitting hours upon hours listening to lectures, and some people just need that extra motivation. Also not ignoring the fact that today's media is not justifying the true Islamic message, there is alot of propaganda, speculation and doubt aimed at us. Insha'Allah this is an effort, even though small, in helping to rectify our image.

I felt I had to do something for Islam, I didn't want to spend my life not achieving anything or not helping the Ummah. I need something that I could look back on and say "Alhamdullilah", I have done this for the sake of Allah SWT. I felt at present this is the most productive thing I could do. My primary intention was and still is to inspire as many people as I can. If I could inspire one person and he/she could then inspire others, and so forth creating a network from a chain reaction, then I have achieved what I initially intended for.

The Name

I wanted a name people could remember, a name that was unique in its own right, and Alhamdullilah Green Bird appealed to me alot. I didn't have a selection to choose from, this kind of popped up straight away.

Check out Part 2, Insha'Allah
